Due to the high transportation costs, stones weren&#8217;t an option, so they used steel, which was the most modern building material at the time. It took 1 year to finish the bridge and it was tested by 3 locomotives in June 1895. During its over 100 years of usage, it was reinforced and renovated several times. The railway line crossing the bridge was closed down around 2006.
