Later on in 1900 they started to produce several other machinery like milling machines. The first motorcycle Wanderer produced was released in 1902 and achieved great success. In 1904, they started to build typewriters and calculating machines. Wanderer built several cars since the year 1913 ranging from ordinary vehicles to sport cars. After the second world war, the factory was stripped down and the brand Wanderer moved to Western Germany. The buildings which were now in the territory of the GDR were turned into the VEB Wanderer-Continental B\u00fcromaschinenwerk. Since then, the factory only produced typewriters for two years. However, in 1955 it was already renamed in VEB Industriewerke Karl-Marx-Stadt and built engines used in planes. Later on in 1900 they started to produce several other machinery like milling machines. The first motorcycle Wanderer produced was released in 1902 and achieved great success. In 1904, they started to build typewriters and calculating machines. Wanderer built several cars since the year 1913 ranging from ordinary vehicles to sport cars. After the second world war, the factory was stripped down and the brand Wanderer moved to Western Germany. The buildings which were now in the territory of the GDR were turned into the VEB Wanderer-Continental B\u00fcromaschinenwerk. Since then, the factory only produced typewriters for two years. However, in 1955 it was already renamed in VEB Industriewerke Karl-Marx-Stadt and built engines used in planes.
