In the building the local post office of the cities Schneeberg and Neust\u00e4dtel was situated. In the year 1939 Neust\u00e4dtel was incorporated to Schneeberg leading to the name change of the train station to &#8216;Bahnhof Schneeberg (Erzgeb.)&#8217;. During the 1920s the number of passengers quickly declined due to the upcoming competing bus transport, which ultimately led to the closure of the railway line in 1952. The building was used ulterior since then and was partially renovated in the 1990s. However, since then it was abandoned and decayed very quickly, with some floors breaking through due to water damage.
