The site was approximately 14,500 square meters large. As the GDR was established the factory became a state-owned enterprise and continued to manufacture tents and medicine balls. After the industrial site fell into the hands of the Treuhand, it was divided, with one part becoming a saddlery in 1991. The Zrost wholesale company also rented a floor and sold items such as toys and stationery there. Two years later, in 1993, the Zrost Spielwaren GmbH &amp; Co. KG acquired the other and larger part of the old factory site to produce the well-known &#8220;Anker Stones&#8221; that are still popular today. The old halls were even partially renovated for this purpose. Various artists moved into the industrial buildings in 1995, making the factory accessible to the public and hosting exhibitions there after the saddlery had to declare bankruptcy around the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&nbsp;The toy company Zrost itself filed for bankruptcy in 1999. In 2005, the Zrost company handed over the property to the rightful successor, the Treuhand, and from then on, the site started to deteriorate. One fire after another destroyed large parts of the structures. The fire department had to respond to the toy factory four times within just two years. The site was approximately 14,500 square meters large. As the GDR was established the factory became a state-owned enterprise and continued to manufacture tents and medicine balls. After the industrial site fell into the hands of the Treuhand, it was divided, with one part becoming a saddlery in 1991. The Zrost wholesale company also rented a floor and sold items such as toys and stationery there. Two years later, in 1993, the Zrost Spielwaren GmbH & Co. KG acquired the other and larger part of the old factory site to produce the well-known \"Anker Stones\" that are still popular today. The old halls were even partially renovated for this purpose. Various artists moved into the industrial buildings in 1995, making the factory accessible to the public and hosting exhibitions there after the saddlery had to declare bankruptcy around the same year.\u00a0The toy company Zrost itself filed for bankruptcy in 1999. In 2005, the Zrost company handed over the property to the rightful successor, the Treuhand, and from then on, the site started to deteriorate. One fire after another destroyed large parts of the structures. The fire department had to respond to the toy factory four times within just two years.
