It changed its name to Dampfbrauerei Kirchremda Ernst H\u00e4u\u00dfer in 1872. It was expropriated in 1972 and got the name VEB Brauerei Remda. Since 1985 it belonged to the VEB Getr\u00e4nkekombinat Gera and was closed down later that year. It&#8217;s uncommon for industry getting closed down during GDR times, which only leads to the conclusion that the brewery was extremely run down and obsolete.
