During this time it got its name &#8216;Hilde Coppi&#8217; who was a resistance fighter during the times of the Third Reich. The circumstances in this children&#8217;s home were pretty good in comparison to others in the GDR. Rooms were shared by two kids, kids could go to vacation camps and had the possibility to contact their parents. Even birthdays and Christmas were celebrated with the children, and the overall pedagogy was more oriented to educate instead to discipline. The facility was closed in 1994 and suffered several fires and a lot of vandalism during the last decades.
