Capturing decay.

NVA missile base Seeberg

The hill Seeberg besides Ohrdruf once had an active bunker during the GDR. The facility served as a general ammunition depot, but also anti-aircraft missiles were stored there. It had the name ‘NVA-Fla-Raketenabteilung 5123’ and about 250 officers and soldiers were stationed there. It was renamed in FRA 5123 with the code name ‘Bergahorn 73’ in 1988. The rockets which were stored there were the types TS-3 and later TA-6. The bunker is locked up and recultivated nowadays, but the buildings on the surface are still there. Most of them decay while the officer building was renovated into a tenement.
