The metal processing factory was built approximately around 1900. During the GDR it belonged to the VEB Metallverarbeitung ‘Grünes Herz’ from the city Schmerbach and VEB Kombinat Schlösser und Beschläge Döbeln. The factory produced hinges, locks and the metal construction kit ‘Construction’ which was well known in the GDR. The factory was closed in 1989 and remained abandoned till today.
