Formerly built as the hotel ‘Bellevue’ the building was renovated into a hospital in 1945. During the GDR the building was badly maintained and its shape got worse and worse. In its final years it was used as a nursing home and closed down approximately in the 1990s. Since then, it decays further and further which upsets many locals because many of them worked or were born there. Not long ago before we visited, the whole roof was removed and not replaced with a new, which will cause excessive water damage to the structure.
