The factory was founded by Felix Weissbach as ‘Weissbach & Co. Seidenweberei Glauchau’ in 1923 and started to produce silk. During World War II, it manufactured several arms. Since the beginning of the GDR, the silk production was established again under the name ‘VEB Silka Siedenweberei Glauchau’. It later belonged to the ‘VEB Textilwerke Einheit Glauchau’ and finally in 1970 to ‘VEB Textilwerke Palla Glauchau’. It closed down soon after the end of the GDR in the 90s
