The factory was built in 1896 with the name ‘Tränkner und Würker’. They mainly produced jute bags in their early years but later in the 1970s the foil production began. After the end of the GDR in 1989 it got renamed to ‘Texafol Leipzig GmbH’ but closed down soon after.
