At the end of the 19th century, the construction of the slaughterhouse and livestock market began, which opened on September 13, 1913. The production of meat and other animal products was carried out there till the early 1990s. Afterwards, attempts were made to keep the site alive with markets and storage facilities. A market with the name ‘Rema’ was also located on the site. In 2021 many buildings on the property were demolished and preparations were made to carry out a redevelopment plan for the area.
