The porcelain factory was founded in the year 1899 by Karl Ens Senior. It was specialized into the production of luxury porcelain products and had great success. After the expropriation and the renaming to VEB Unterglasurporzellanfabrik during the GDR, sales decreased over time. Even after the end of the GDR, the factory had no success and was forced to close down in the 90s.
