Capturing decay.

Barracks Gotha

The barracks once were built for the Wehrmacht in 1936. In July 1945 the Soviets came and occupied the barracks and stayed there. The barracks was expanded with more officer buildings, a school, a restaurant and a shop which was called ‘Russen-Magazin’ by the locals who even were allowed to buy there. In 1991 the last soldiers from the GSSD left the barracks. While some buildings like the officer house were renovated, some were left to decay, as you can see in the gallery below.
