We recreated the abandoned dairy plant “VEB Milchhof Gera”, located in the north of the city Gera in Thuringia, Germany. As well as all our other builds, it is created in heavily modded Minecraft. The reconstruction we did this time aims to be a realistic and exact replica of the real-world building as far as possible given the circumstances. It’s mostly made with the mod Chisels&Bits which allows us to split full blocks in 16×16 pixels (~1/16 of a meter) and achieve a high precision for a very accurate interpretation of the real-world location. The floor plan of all the buildings in the map is up to 85% identically to the real-world counterpart, which was the most possible for us. It took longer than we expected, but now it’s finally finished and we’re happy to upload it here. From now on, one of the once very important factories of Gera is preserved digitally for eternity.
We’ve done a lot more besides this build in the meantime this summer. There is more to be released in the future, so stay tuned!

Our maps uploaded here are cutouts which we considered worth sharing of our bigger building map,
hence the abruptly cut landscape at the region corners.
Starting up the modpack can take up to 15 minutes depending on the hardware. You need at least 10Gb of RAM. If you have a server available and you know how to run the map on it we highly recommend it.
