The porcelain factory ‘Weiß, Kühnert & Co.’ was founded in the year 1891. It produced several decorative porcelain products as well as kitchen utensils. In 1972 it was renamed to ‘VEB Gebrauchsporzellan Gräfenthal’ but was incorporated in ‘VEB Porzellanfigurenwerk Gräfenthal’ in 1976, along with other porcelain manufactures from the city. It closed down sometime in the 1990s. Today the buildings are slowly devoured by nature, with one part being collapsed already and other parts partially.
