Capturing decay.

BW Leipzig-Wahren

In the year 1880 the area was opened as a passenger railway station and turned into a freight station 25 years later. Due to that change, the railway maintenance facility ‘Bahnbetriebswerk Leipzig-Wahren’ was constructed and maintained the local locomotives. Two big water towers were built in the area, making it stand out of its surroundings. In 1994, it was closed down due to the restructuring of the Deutsche Bahn. A lot of the buildings were severely damaged in a fire which took place in 2014. The decay is pretty progressed, making it a nice and atmospheric place to explore.
