Capturing decay.

Porcelain Factory Carl Scheidig

The factory was built in 1906 in the city Gräfenthal and named ‘Carl Scheidig KG’. It produced several porcelain figurines and many other porcelain products. In 1906 on the Leipziger Messe the factory had its own exhibition of its products. In 1955, they had about 10000 porcelain models. The factory was integrated in the ‘VEB Porzellanfigurenwerk Gräfenthal’ and got closed down after the end of the GDR. Before being completely abandoned, it was used as a warehouse for all sorts of things for a couple of years.
