The hotel as constructed in 1892 on the hillside of Ruhla. It had 40 rooms and 60 beds and had a good reputation among its guests. It was sold to the city in 1920 and was renovated to an apartment building. The last tenant left the building in 2014 leaving it abandoned till today.
