The first buildings of this big factory where constructed during the turn of the century 1900. During it’s first operating years it produced several castings but had to close down in 1929 due to the world economic crisis. After 10 years the factory startet to produce again and remained in operation till the end of the GDR. The factory was bought by another foundry in 1990. However it went bancrupt in 1996 due to the lack of profit leaving the buildings to decay.
