Administration Building of Smeltery Mägdesprung

The smeltery Mägdesprung was built in 1646 and expanded several times over the following decades. While other buildings of the factory were demolished or renovated the administrative building is still abandoned. The late baroque style building was constructed in 1781 and expanded by a truss extension. During the GDR the factory produced Ovens and heating devices under the name ‘VEB Gas- und Heizgerätewerk Mägdesprung’. Soon after the end of the GDR it got closed down due to low profit.
