Capturing decay.

Hotel Mägdesprung

The hotel was constructed as a restaurant called ‘Hüttenschenke’ in the beginning of the 18th century. The building was expanded with a hotel extension in the south in the 19th century. In the end the north part of the building was used as a restaurant with the name ‘Kutscherstube’ while the south part was used as a Kulturhaus. In 1970 the hotel was used as a recreation home for the school ‘Otto von Guericke Magdeburg’. Since the 90s the hotel was abandoned while the restaurant part of it was still in use. On the morning of the 2nd July 2018 the whole restaurant burned down, leaving behind the abandoned hotel part in the south.
