Capturing decay.

Porcelain Factory Lichte

The factory was founded in 1840 and produced porcelain since then. It even was present on the world exhibition in Paris and St. Louis during the start of the 20th century. They expanded their production with figurines thanks to the sculptor Wilhelm Krieger. In 1948 the owners were expropriated and the ‘VEB Zierporzellanwerk Lichte’ was formed. In 1991 after the end of the GDR the former owners got the factory back but failed to run the business with any success. A worker took over the factory and the production continued. In 2012, they had to register for insolvency and closed down in 2014. Since then the buildings are abandoned.
